Overview
Lysate Cell adds Special skill charges and reduces that slot's cooldown. It corrupts Fuel Cell, exchanging equipment support for Special support. Whether that is a useful trade depends on the selected Special and how much the run depends on equipment.
What it changes
Each copy adds one stored Special charge. The listed Special cooldown reduction is 33%. Additional copies keep adding charges; they do not repeatedly add another 33-percentage-point reduction until the cooldown disappears.
A charge is an available cast that can be stored. It does not remove the need to recharge after using stock, and it does not change the skill's targeting, duration or other rules. Compare the selected skill's practical use before seeking more copies.
Engineer's first Cell changes the setup
Engineer can gain a third turret opportunity through the first Lysate Cell. That changes the number of available shooters using inherited eligible items, so it is more than a small numerical damage increase.
Do not extrapolate that first change into a claim that every further copy permits an unlimited number of simultaneous turrets. Skill stock and active deployment limits are separate concepts. The Engineer build guide explains the supported first-Cell opportunity without inventing an unlimited-turret build.
Equipment benefits are removed
Fuel Cell provides additional equipment stock and equipment cooldown reduction. Lysate Cell corrupts all held Fuel Cells and future Fuel Cell pickups, so those equipment benefits disappear after conversion.
If equipment is maintaining recovery, missile volleys or another important effect, that loss can matter more than another Special cast. Check what happens to the equipment cycle before picking up the Void item. A stronger Special is not automatically a stronger overall inventory.
Compare the selected Special, not only the Survivor
A Survivor can have alternative Specials that use charges and cooldown windows differently. Ask whether another ready cast can be used immediately, whether it is being saved for a specific target, and whether its effect is already present.
An extra stock is less useful when other skill conditions prevent you from taking advantage of it. Movement, targeting and an available safe attack window remain necessary. The database deliberately provides no unsupported list of universally best Lysate characters.
Check the equipment plan alongside it
Gesture of the Drowned forces equipment activation, while Fuel Cell affects equipment charges and recharge. Lysate does not preserve Fuel Cell's part of that setup. Keep the two plans separate when comparing a Void swap.
Take the Cell when the Special cast is valuable and the loss of equipment support is acceptable. Keep Fuel Cell when equipment is central to the run's current function. These are source-based conditional decisions, not a game-tested tier placement or an unlimited-stock claim.
