Overview

Gesture of the Drowned reduces equipment cooldown and forces equipment to activate when it is ready. The forced activation is part of the item, so the decision depends on what your active equipment should do and when it should do it.

First copy and later copies differ

The first Gesture halves equipment cooldown. Each further copy multiplies the remaining cooldown by 0.85. Additional copies do not repeatedly add another fifty-percentage-point reduction until the equipment has no cooldown.

Fuel Cell provides a different combination: an extra equipment charge and its own cooldown reduction. Compare charges, recharge and timing separately. More stored activations and automatic use are not interchangeable effects.

Choose equipment that benefits from automatic timing

A damage or support effect that is useful whenever available may fit forced activation. Equipment that needs a particular target, a valuable drop or a specific emergency window can spend its activation at an unwanted time.

For example, Recycler is a decision about a selected pickup. Foreign Fruit is a decision about recovery. Royal Capacitor targets a threat. Consider the effect's current targeting and activation conditions rather than assuming every equipment item gains the same value from a shorter recharge.

Account for the supporting inventory

Soulbound Catalyst reduces equipment cooldown through kills, while War Horn provides a timed attack-speed effect after an equipment activation. These conditional effects only contribute when the relevant event happens.

Gesture can make repeated equipment use easier to access, but it does not create the kills, enemies or healing need that another effect requires. Check what happens while traveling between fights as well as during a boss encounter.

Spinel Tonic needs a real uptime calculation

Spinel Tonic supplies a temporary stat boost and can grant an Affliction when that boost ends. Do not claim that Gesture alone guarantees permanent Tonic uptime. Start with the equipment's listed sixty-second recharge and twenty-second effect, then account for the actual cooldown modifiers and charges in the run.

The database intentionally gives no unsupported minimum inventory for permanent uptime. A short or uneven activation gap still matters because the penalty is associated with the buff ending. Evaluate the actual loadout before using that claim to justify a pickup.

Keep or pass according to timing

Keep Gesture when automatic activation serves the equipment plan. Pass when deliberate activation is central to recovery, targeting or item selection. If already holding it, replacing equipment can be more practical than pretending you still control every activation window.

The item overview explains equipment slots and Lunar tradeoffs. Lysate Cell is a separate decision because its corruption removes Fuel Cell's equipment benefits. These recommendations are interpretations of sourced triggers, not a measured equipment ranking or a game-tested automation setup.
