Overview

Bustling Fungus, often called Bungus, is a stationary healing item. It becomes useful when you can keep its zone active without giving an enemy a free attack. Engineer's stationary TR12 turrets are a particularly clear use case because they inherit eligible items and remain in place.

What activates the healing zone

Remain stationary for one second. One Fungus then heals nearby allies for 4.5% of their maximum health each second inside its listed 3m radius. The health percentage uses the recipient's maximum health, so an ally with a different health pool does not receive a flat amount based on your own health.

Movement interrupts the condition. Even a skill that nudges your Survivor can break the stationary window. Check the visible healing circle rather than assuming that firing from roughly the same location is sufficient.

What another copy changes

The second copy raises the listed rate to 6.75% health per second and radius to 4.5m. Further copies add 2.25 percentage points of healing per second and 1.5m of range. Those are sourced stack values; the one-second delay does not become faster.

Range can matter as much as healing. Two stationary turrets that are placed outside each other's circles cannot form the same mutual-healing position as two turrets whose circles overlap. Place them for a useful firing angle first, then check whether the added radius actually connects the position.

Engineer: stationary and mobile turrets differ

TR12 Gauss Auto-Turrets remain still, allowing Fungus to stay active. Putting them near one another can support both turrets and nearby teammates. Engineer does not need to stand next to them continuously for their own healing zones to function.

TR58 Carbonizer Turrets move. Their movement means the same item does not provide a persistent zone in the same way. Treat the turret skill choice as part of the item decision. See the Engineer build guide before converting a stationary setup into a moving one.

Healing interactions and the Void trade

Rejuvenation Rack amplifies healing, Aegis can turn excess healing into barrier, and N'kuhana's Opinion stores healing for skull damage. These effects need an actual healing opportunity; collecting their icons does not make an unsafe stationary position safe.

Weeping Fungus corrupts all held and future Bustling Fungi. It changes the condition to sprinting and removes the original stationary effect. That can fit a moving Survivor while damaging the purpose of a stationary-turret inventory.

Keep Fungus when your loadout can maintain a useful stationary healing area. Consider another Common item when you must move constantly and cannot create that window. This is a conditional choice from the documented mechanics, not a measured tier placement.
