Best for

Monsoon or Eclipse solo or co-op runs where you actively manage the corruption meter and reserve space for a form change.

Avoid if

You want a guaranteed permanent corrupted form in an ordinary run, or add continuous healing without accounting for its effect on corruption.

How it works

Normal and corrupted skills serve different ranges and recovery roles. Healing lowers corruption, while critical strikes and damage influence it upward. Normal Suppress spends corruption to recover health; corrupted Suppress spends health to extend pressure.

Equipment priority

ThenAttack speed and applicable damageSupport both forms and leave an exit from close-range beam fire.
ConditionalCritical chance or selected void itemsCheck the meter and corruption trades rather than assuming every void item is a free upgrade.

Build order

  1. Learn normal Drown, Flood, Trespass and Suppress with the starting loadout.
  2. Take movement and a recovery plan whose effect on corruption you understand.
  3. Add damage for both ranges and reserve a route for transformation.
  4. Evaluate each void item and healing pickup before changing the form cycle.

How to play

Use normal form to work from range and recover when there is room to channel Suppress. Before transforming, choose a close-range target and an exit. Stop beam fire and reposition when the route closes.

What can break the build

Healing can shorten corrupted pressure. A transformation replaces the healing special, and corrupted Suppress trades health for duration. Void corruption also removes the ordinary counterpart of its item, so inventory changes can alter more than the meter.

Checked against the October 8, 2026 2K patch notes and the survivor wiki reference on October 13, 2026. Item priorities and mode fit are editorial recommendations inferred from those mechanics. No in-game clear, DPS benchmark, win rate, or import code was tested. Build Void Fiend around a controlled two-form cycle before attempting a permanent corrupted setup. Normal form provides range and a healing special; corrupted form supplies close-range pressure with a different special cost. The useful inventory keeps both phases functional and preserves an exit when the transformation changes your available tools.

The survivor requires Survivors of the Void. This setup uses the normal skill family and its corrupted forms rather than replacing the special with a Heresy skill. The exact form and corruption meter matter more than completing one fixed item list.

SpecialSuppressCorrupted Suppress extends pressure by spending health instead of healing

Normal Suppress is a recovery action that spends corruption. Use it from a place where you can finish the channel. If a transformation is imminent, account for losing that healing option before entering a fight. Do not open a dangerous damage interaction and assume the same special will still be available afterward.

Choose recovery with its meter effect in mind

Healing lowers corruption, while critical strikes and incoming damage can push it upward. The practical result is that an inventory intended to recover health can also change how often you transform and how long the corrupted pressure remains available. Observe the meter after a pickup instead of assuming every healing source is neutral to the plan.

Cautious Slug is a candidate for recovery through regeneration rather than repeated healing ticks. Topaz Brooch offers temporary protection after kills without being ordinary healing. These are useful distinctions, but neither provides universal safety: regeneration requires room to disengage, and on-kill barrier needs kills.

Do not discard a needed recovery source merely to extend corrupted uptime. If normal form is surviving and completing the fight, a slower transformation can be an acceptable trade. The build's target is a controllable run, not the highest possible fraction of time in one form.

Fund movement for both firing ranges

Paul's Goat Hoof, Energy Drink and Hopoo Feather are candidates for access and retreat. Normal Drown can work from range; the corrupted attack wants a closer position and can make relocation awkward while firing. Choose the target and exit before committing to that close-range beam.

Soldier's Syringe and applicable damage pickups can support ordinary firing. ATG Missile Mk. 1 and Ukulele are candidates when offered, with crowd or target priorities determined by the current problem. Lens-Maker's Glasses and Predatory Instincts can change both offensive support and the critical contribution to the meter, so reassess the transformation timing after adding them.

If the main failure is dying while firing, release the attack and relocate earlier. If you are safe but groups remain alive, add useful crowd damage. If normal recovery is unavailable at the wrong moment, inspect the transformation sequence before concluding that another rare healing item is required.

Evaluate void pickups as inventory changes

Void items raise the minimum corruption level, but they also corrupt their ordinary counterparts. A void pickup can therefore change an existing item interaction as well as the form cycle. Review the lost counterpart and the new effect before taking it solely to increase corrupted uptime. The item corruption guide explains that replacement trade.

A permanent corrupted plan requires an unusual inventory commitment and changes access to normal skills. It is not assumed here. Do not label a normal random-loot run incomplete because it never reaches that setup, and do not collect an inferior replacement solely to chase a theoretical endpoint.

Corrupted Suppress spends health to extend the state. Use it only when the additional pressure is worth the health and the position remains safe. A longer transformation does not help if it traps you in range with no room to retreat.

Adapt the cycle to solo, co-op and Eclipse

In solo, prepare the next form around the threat you must handle yourself. Normal range can remove an immediate problem before you commit to the closer phase. In co-op, allied healing and enemy attention can change the rhythm, so keep checking the meter instead of assuming the solo timing remains unchanged.

On Monsoon, a functional cycle with ordinary damage is preferable to delaying the route for a permanent-form wishlist. For Eclipse, avoid taking intentional damage simply to force corruption. Recovery constraints make that trade less forgiving, and the Eclipse guide should be checked before reproducing a lower-mode healing plan.

This setup does not claim a benchmark for either form. Compare failures you can identify: losing the healing window, entering corrupted form without a target, or continuing beam fire after the exit closes. Correcting that sequence can be more useful than adding another damage effect to the same unsafe route.
