Use Huntress's ability to fire while sprinting as the center of the build. Strafe supplies a straightforward starting rhythm, Laser Glaive helps against groups, and Blink keeps a route available when the enemy mix changes. The initial plan should work with ordinary damage and movement rather than assuming an early high-critical inventory.
The Flurry variant in the workbench is a separate loadout choice. It changes the primary's item priorities because critical volleys gain additional arrows. Choose it between runs when that rhythm suits you; you cannot turn Strafe into Flurry by collecting a particular item during the current run.
Choose skills for the movement you need
Blink and Phase Blink are not interchangeable movement tools. Blink can travel in the camera's vertical direction; Phase Blink is a shorter horizontal option. Choose the utility from the terrain and your combat habits rather than simply counting charges. Spending every charge on travel leaves no tool for the attack that starts as soon as you reach the next encounter.
Build a functional first-stage inventory
Take a movement pickup when it improves your sprinting route. Paul's Goat Hoof supports general movement, Energy Drink supports sprinting, and Hopoo Feather can solve a terrain problem. Huntress still needs a suitable target and enough room to move; homing arrows do not turn every exposed route into a safe firing position.
Soldier's Syringe is a candidate for more frequent attacks. Ukulele and Gasoline are candidates for group pressure when the run offers them. Backup Magazine increases secondary availability, which can help if Laser Glaive is doing useful work against repeated groups. If bosses are the main delay instead, do not keep buying only crowd tools because they appear on a generic build list.
Recovery should fit your route. Cautious Slug rewards a safe disengagement; Weeping Fungus can support sprinting when its expansion is enabled. Neither is a substitute for preserving Blink when the next boss attack needs it. The item guide explains the trigger and corruption choices behind these alternatives.
Use critical support for the primary you selected
Strafe can use ordinary critical damage, but Flurry has a specific additional-arrow interaction on a critical volley. That makes critical support an intentional part of the Flurry plan. Lens-Maker's Glasses and Predatory Instincts are relevant opportunities when you are choosing known pickups.
A random-loot run does not promise the critical inventory you want. Keep movement and usable damage competitive while the drops develop. If you have selected Flurry, evaluate the actual critical support before assuming its paper potential is already active. The workbench changes the recommendations as well as the skill name so that the two setups can be assessed on their own terms.
Make the special attack part of the escape plan
Ballista provides directed burst, but its aiming window can expose Huntress to incoming attacks. Start it from a position with room for the next movement. If enemies are already crowding that position, create space first rather than activating it simply because the cooldown is ready.
Arrow Rain covers a chosen area and has a different timing and targeting pattern. Use it where the encounter will remain relevant to that area. Neither special should be evaluated only by the damage description; consider how easily you can land it while retaining a route away from the next threat.
Laser Cyclone was added in October 2026 and uses a catch-and-juggle rhythm. It is a specific skill choice with its own unlock, not an automatic replacement for Laser Glaive. Practice the timing separately before making the build depend on repeated catches in a crowded holdout.
Change priorities when the run context changes
For Monsoon solo, keep sprinting fire and group control moving the run forward. If you survive but the Teleporter becomes crowded, buy practical crowd damage. If you die while firing, inspect the route and your Blink reserve before buying another offensive stack.
For Eclipse, mobility and preventing the first hit become more valuable as recovery becomes less forgiving. Avoid committing every Blink just to maintain an ideal firing angle. Check the Eclipse considerations before reusing a healing-heavy inventory unchanged.
In co-op, auto-targeting can still make it awkward to focus one distant priority enemy when closer enemies interfere. Use Glaive and the special deliberately while teammates handle their own targets. Huntress's mobility should keep her useful to the group without requiring everyone to follow the same circular route.
References and recommendation limits
This guide uses the October 8, 2026 update baseline and was reviewed on October 13, 2026. Skill mechanics are referenced to the survivor wiki; item priorities, mode fit and stage decisions are recommendations inferred from those mechanics. No run was played or benchmarked for this guide. Clear time, DPS and success rate remain unknown.
